I can't believe he said they're "pollution free" - how naïve can the media get? Now, give me one of these, but with a small moped engine inside, and you could ride all day on less than a litre of petrol. I'd like to see that.

No, they don't pollute while running - that's not what they said either - they said pollution free. Period. But until they find a way to make electricity from the thoughts of babies, or unicorn tears, they're still going to get the wattage from a power plant somewhere - we can't all be fjord-powered like Norway ;)

Actually, no they dont have to get the power from a power plant somewhere. This just like electric cars/truck can be 100% polution free (except the contruction of) and never use a drop of coal/oil/gas/chemicals of any kind. Recharging and useing them are 100% polution free my friend.

No, you're right. If they are charged by wind power, or from a dam with turbines and the likes, then that's fine. Very few countries in the world have non-polluting electricity sources - the pollution is moved from the machine itself off to a production facility elsewhere. Unless you can ensure that the unit will never be charged from an electricity source that involves nuclear/coal power plants then claiming that it's pollution free is a straight up fallacy.

Well there are alot of people charging there electric vehicles by installing a couple solar panel arrays with battery capture system on there homes. Some of this energy is being used to power the home lights and the extra used to charge up overnight. I suppect if electric vehicles realy catch on this time around, there will be solar plug in outlets at appartments, schools, businesses and the likes. It will take some time for the infrastruction but maybe it will happen. 100% polution free

I personally know a guy here in town who has solar panels on his garage and those are dedicated to charging his car and all rechargable appliances in his home. he plans to install on rooftop later to reduce home electric (coal fire). I also know a farmer who has converted his diesel truck to burn 100% vegatable oil. He uses 10% of his land to raise the crop and then processes it and stores in his under ground tank and uses when needed. There are SO many ways to get off crude (in vehicles).

1 hour is probably how long it lasts while going the max speed.
