PostSecret is an ongoing community art project where people

Frank,

I beg you, please take down the picture of the "larvae breast". I had not seen the picture before and it literally made me vomit when I did see it, even though the postcard (and Snopes) said it was fake.

It is an EXTREMELY disturbing image and I would have appreciated a warning.

It will haunt my nightmares for a while. Please, please take it down or put up a warning.

My family believe I died in the Indian Ocean tsunami. I put my wallet and passport in a dead man's clothes and took his identity.

Hi Frank,

There was a lot of outrage about a photoshoped image of a breast this week. I'll admit, it is a little creepy. However, I'm upset by the fact that there seems to be more upset about this postcard then many on, say, abuse or other topics. I worry when something fake causes outrage, but something real does not.

Three Secrets About Four PostSecret Books

(1) One of my secrets is in each of the PostSecret books.

With each book, I try to tell a different story with our secrets. In the second book, My Secret, I tried to assemble a book with the message I needed to see when I was struggling with feelings of directionless in high school and lonely at college.

(2) In that book my secret is the one typed on the Catcher in the Rye book cover.

The latest book - A Lifetime of Secrets - tells the story of how we and our secrets change as we grow older. It also includes several emails I have received from people sharing other ingenious ways of sharing secrets.

Here is one example -
My boyfriend and I knew we had to do something important or else our relationship would fall apart. So we took markers and wrote our deepest secrets on each other's backs. I never read his secrets, and he never read mine, but the perilousness of such close contact between us and the other's demons was what we needed to save our relationship. . .
