I have never understood what was so artistic about this stuff. It sounds like what it is, somebody dinking around with a turntable. It's boring as hell. It's novelty for about 2 minutes but after that I just want to turn it off. It's like watching someone whacking off.
Quality work coz they have the ideas but my vote still goes to Pro-Zeiko, purely and simply for speed and intensity. In my opinion anyway. If you dont know who Pro-Zeiko is, i suggest you search the name and watch his '99 Problems' and 'Nervous Shock' videos. That type of skill in turntablism is untouchable, i defy anyone to disagree with that without a decent argument =)
i hear you. at the same time, ain't there room for both? one must admit, laptop dj's can and have carved out a rather nice niche for theyselves. artists like MSTRKRFT and others have shown that the laptop is not necessarily the antichrist of the turntablist. all that having been said, however, there is a certain craft that remains in turntablism that is lost on the "push of a button" technique...
SingJiya. You are an idiot. These guys are class scratchers. Any1 with any scratching knowledge knows this. Go listen 2 the commercial radio you might get pussycat dolls on. More your type. IDIOTS!
